A Sexy Sparkle Eye for New Year's Eve

I don't know about you, but when I tried to do a "sparkle" eye in the past, I looked like a four year old who just played in her mother's make up. It was horrible and all over the place. Determined to master this look for fun occasions and nights out, I have learned a lot in the past year and am going to share what I found!

If you are just starting out with this look, I recommend a sparkle eye shadow with a more natural tone to it. Bobbi Brown has some great colors available, and my favorite is "cement". Start by covering your eye with a liquid concealer that matches your skin tone. This helps the eye shadow to stick on the eye better and prevents it from coming off onto the rest of your face, making it look like you belong in a Disney musical.

Next, cover the eyelid and a little above it onto the brow bone (but NOT too far up! See picture above). Then, take a dark brown if using a cream sparkle eye shadow and shade the crease and outer corner of the eye. After applying eyeliner, you can add a touch of sparkle shadow under it on the lower eyelid. Have fun with this and get creative!

How to Keep Lipstick off of Your Teeth

Red lipstick is always in. It is a go-to color that always looks great. If you are somebody that can pull off the look of bright red lips, go with it! It looks amazing....except when it's smeared on your front teeth. Has that ever happened to you? You are thinking that you're looking great, you have confidence, you feel gorgeous and all of a sudden you look in the mirror to find lipstick on your front teeth. It's terrible!

Here's a way to keep that from happening: When you first apply the lipstick, take a tissue and firmly press (don't rub and move your lips around on the tissue) between your top and bottom lips. Then, stick your clean finger in between your lips and pull it back out. This helps to remove any lipstick that may have gone into the insides of your lips. After, apply a super thin layer of Vaseline on your front teeth--it is too slippery for lipstick to stick to the teeth.

How to Get the Awful Yellow Color off of Your Nails

I know this has happened to you because it unfortunately happens to me all of the time: you decide to paint your nails some fun and funky color (this even happens sometimes with bright colors like red and pink) and when it's time to take off the nail polish, you see that your natural nails are yellow. It looks disgusting and I am always so self-conscious about it.

To get rid of this, mix a few drops of fresh lemon juice with 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide (which can be found at any drugstore for cheap). Soak your nails in this solution and use a couple of cotton balls to scrub the nails gently until the nails are back to their original hue.

And remember for next time, apply two layers of a base coat before adding the color nail polish--it should save your nails in the future!

Beautiful Junior Plus Size Dresses

This is the time of year to really load up your closet for the events to come. Winter brings a ton of wonderful events: winter weddings (so gorgeous!), winter formals if you are in school yet, holiday parties, New Year's Eve parties, and don't forget that prom is JUST around the corner! I love filling up my calendar with dress-worthy events. This helps to break up the long season of winter (and as a woman, do I really need an excuse to want to dress up? It's just plain FUN!)

I found an amazing selection of dressing in so many different colors, lengths, materials, and sizes. Pacific Plex carries the best selection of junior plus size dresses around. You can't always find a place that has sizes XS-4X, and I feel like I hit a goldmine when I do! They also carry TONS of different colors (if you are looking for bridesmaid dresses, they have almost every color to match your wedding theme). The dress pictured above comes in thirteen different colors!

Erase Paste Covers Under Eye Circles

I am so busy some days that I don't know how I haven't left the house with mismatched shoes yet. I am so rushed in the mornings, and really all of the time. I'm lucky if I get a full night of sleep!

I'm so glad I've found Erase Paste. This truly is a magical concealer and it hides everything! It's super easy to blend and it camouflages just about anything. I am able to cover under-eye-circles, pimples, and more. There are three different shades to choose from (light, dark and medium).

This concealer lasts a long time (a little bit goes a long way). Follow the link and check this amazing concealer out for yourself. Comment on this post with reviews of your own!

A Cheaper Way to Get Matte Nails

I love the look of matte nail polish. It's been trending for quite a while now and I have no doubt that it will continue to be a trend in the fashion world. This puts a unique spin on traditional nail polish for a look that's super chic.

Instead of buying that matte nail polish that is super expensive, make your own! All you need to do is paint your nails with a normal nail polish (that shines when dry). Once it's all the way dry (you can use a second coat if needed), add some corn starch to a bottle of clear nail polish and shake well. Once it's mixed well, coat the nails with this new mixture and allow time to dry. This is a great way to get that gorgeous matte look for a lot cheaper!

Fun and Fashionable Bridal Party Dresses

Wedding planning can be so much fun yet so overwhelming at the same time. I have a relatively long engagement of 14 months and I have a lot of respect for people that can do it in under a year--I feel like I almost don't have enough time! Recently, I've been looking and finding a lot of great wedding ideas online. It's wonderful to sit on my couch and have all of these amazing ideas right at my fingertips.

This is why I decided to pick out the bridal party dresses online. We've already spent two different Saturdays at dozens of bridal stores. The girls got sick and tired of trying on dress after dress and the crowds were ridiculous. I came across this amazing site that has the perfect dresses for the wedding. I am very impressed with the prices, the variety of styles, materials and colors. The site is easy to navigate around and the girls all loved this gorgeous dress that I picked out. The size selection is wonderful, too!

How to Get Great Post-Workout Hair Without Washing it

I love to work-out during my lunch break. It's the perfect time, because I can't wake up early enough to squeeze my work-out in before work and after work I am go straight home to be with my family. When a work-out is done mid-day, it was always a challenge to get my hair somewhat back to normal (especially because I don't have time to shower on my break). I found a couple of tips to get hair back to normal post-workout without a shower. Here's how:
1. Spritz a little bit (maybe 5 pumps) of spray gel onto the outermost layer of the hair. Don't use a gel that's very concentrated!
2. Wrap a medium-sized section of hair around a round brush and roll it away from the scalp. Hold a hair dryer at the roots of the hair to add extra volume.
3. Leave the hair wrapped around the brush to cool. Repeat with other sections of hair on the sides of your head.
4. Hold the dryer about 6 inches from the ends of your hair to add volume back to the ends. This only takes about 20 seconds!

Custom Engagement Rings for Any Style

My guy has great taste (after all, he picked me!) and I love the things that he picks out. We have very similar taste and I often trust his judgement when he goes to the store, or picks things up for our home. There is one thing, however, that I am very picky on and believe that nobody would ever have the same taste as I do in and that is engagement rings.

I am very particular about jewelry in the first place, and this is especially true when it comes to an engagement ring because this is something that will be worn forever. This is an important piece of jewelry because of what it represents and the meaning that it has.

Thank goodness for Simone and Son! They specialize in creating custom engagement rings for every style. This means that you can have your dream wedding or engagement ring and that nobody in the world would have that same ring but you. This is so special and unique!

A Fun Nail Polish Tip

I love seeing all the amazing designs that people come up with to put on their nails and use as nail art. I am amazed at the creativity that people come up with! Being that I am not the most creative person and times and also have no hand-eye coordination, I had to find a way to get those cool designs on my nails without making a big mess or looking sloppy!

First, paint your nail the color or your choice! Make sure the nails are dry.

Find a shape design that you like on Google and scale it down on a Word Document. Then copy and paste the image so that you can use it more than one nail. Take a cotton ball and soak it really well with rubbing alcohol. Place the ink side down on the nail and squeeze the cotton ball so the alcohol drips onto the nail and saturates the paper. Hold the cotton ball firmly on the nail for ten seconds and slowly peel off the paper.

Beautiful Ornate Wedding Rings

There is really nothing that I don't love about wedding planning. It's so much fun to be able to pick everything out and it really builds up anticipation for the big day! It can be overwhelming, however, to pick out the dress, the flowers, a great hairstyle, how you want your make up done, the wedding colors, bridesmaid dresses, wedding jewelry, venue, music, food, and more.

One of the most important components of a wedding is the wedding jewelry. I trust the one and only Simone and Son jewelry company for my jewelry needs. They have a fantastic selection of engagement rings and wedding rings. There are so many different styles available--no matter what your personal style is, you can find the perfect ring.

My favorite rings are the ornate wedding rings. These are breathtaking and beautiful. They are unique and have some amazing designs.

A Tip for Mascara Appplication

Mascara is one of my favorite parts of make-up. I love that mascara can add so much to the eyes to really make them pop and stand out. I always like my lashes to look as long and thick as possible, so I sometimes add a second layer of mascara to really make them stand out.

I have the most trouble getting mascara onto my bottom lashes. I can really tell the difference when it's not there, but before I came across this great tip, my mascara would smudge and smear under my eyes. It would look like I got punched and had a black eye!

I came across this tip on Pinterest and it makes application of mascara on my lower eyelashes so much easier and more efficient. If you use a plastic spoon to place under the lower lashes, this prevents the mascara from going on the skin. It's a wonderful tip and I use it everyday!

A Great Way to Display Nail Polish

I don't know about you all, but when I go to paint my nails, I can never make a decision. I always end up using a paper towel to "test" the colors out since everybody knows the color in the bottle always looks different than when it's on my nails.

I'm going to do this ASAP--I came across it on Pinterest and I'm super excited to try it out! I'm going to take out all of my nail polish and swipe a small patch on a space of paper. I have a booklet of blank paper that I'm not using that will work perfectly to fill up with nail polish swatches! This will make the decision a lot easier when it's time to paint my nails.

Get the Ring of Your Dreams with a Custom Designed Ring

As all fashionistas know, everybody has a different style. You can follow the trends as much as you want, but each person has their own personal tastes and way of taking those styles and making them unique to the individual person.

There are many different kinds and styles of engagement and wedding rings out there on the market. It can be so overwhelming to find the perfect one. There's a lot of pressure to pick something that will be worn forever. When I was shopping for engagement rings, I feel like there was something about each ring that I disliked.

I'm glad I discovered Simone and Son. They specialize in creating custom designed rings and I couldn't be more happy with the ring that they made just for me!

DIY Skin Care Ideas and Tips

I love finding great skin care regimens that I can do at home. It can be so expensive to buy all of those products at the store and if you check out the ingredients on some of them, you'll be surprised by some of the ingredients that they contain! It's also great to save some money (especially during the holiday season!) with these at home DIY solutions that will do just as much as those store-bought products.

1. Use fresh lemon juice and apply to your face and neck. Leave it on for about ten minutes--rinse it off and notice your lighter and brighter skin!

2. Drinking at least a half of a gallon of water a day can eliminate blackheads and treat your dry skin.

3. If you have a pimple, apply tea tree oil to a pimple with a cotton swab. Do this every few hours and and about an hour before bed, apply vitamin B oil. Watch your pimple disappear!

4. Put some champagne on a cotton ball and rub in evenly on your face. This will shrink pores, give your skin a glow, and add antioxidants to your skin.

5. Mix sugar with your face or body wash. This prevents pimples and keeps the skin super smooth!

Beautiful Prom Dresses

I love prom season. I feel like as soon as the holidays hit, that means that prom is right around the corner. I love prom because it's such a fun event during high school. It's exciting to get ready with your friends. There's so much to choose from and decide on that you can really cater your prom experience to your own personal style.

You can choose your prom dress (which was always my favorite part), shoes to match, beautiful flowers that coordinate, a great hair style, and of course a fun date to dance the night away with! I wish I could go to prom again, although it's nice that my sisters are in high school still and the perfect age for prom. They are both going this year and I can't wait to help them with all of these fun things!

Fantastic Color Guide to Eyes

Eye-color-chart coordinating liner/shadow

I am always looking for fun, new ways to do my make up, especially my eyes. I feel like eye make up is a lot easier to change up and experiment with than make up for your face (such as foundation--you don't really want to do a bunch of different colors in that, it will look fake). I tend to do lighter colors for my eyes during the day and darker, more fun colors in the evenings when I go out.

I have big, green eyes and I love them. I want them to stand out as much as possible, as they are my best feature. I found this great visual aid in assisting people in selecting their eye make up color based on their eye color. It's a chart that's easy to use. Write down the colors that best match your eyes and take it in next time you go shopping. You can make tons of different combos out of the colors in the chart under your eye color! Let me know what you think of the end result, I'd love to hear!

An Amazing Selection of Engagement Rings in Orange County

I can honestly say that I had the picture perfect proposal. There were candles, music, a beautiful speech from my future groom, and of course some wine. I am so excited and have not been able to stop smiling since we got engaged a couple of weeks ago. That's how it's supposed to be, right? I couldn't be happier!

Everybody asks if I saw it coming, and I can say that I did have suspicions. He took me to my favorite jewelry store in Orange County to look at engagement rings a couple of times. He knows how picky I am when it comes to jewelry and also wanted to make sure that the size is right for my finger.

I had an amazing experience with Simone and Son. He said it's easy to see why they are my favorite jewelry store. They have a great selection of rings and there are so many different sizes, colors, and shapes to choose from. No matter what your personal style is, you can find a beautiful ring with the help of the friendly staff.

Going Gray on Purpose...WHAT?!

It used to be where woman would spend a ton of time at the salon getting rid of their gray hair. It was always a dreaded day in a person's life when they would look in the mirror and see those couple of gray hairs popping through and ruining their perfectly colored head of hair. When you walk through a department store seeing the boxes of hair dye, the main advertisement on it would be that it "covers grays".

Now, more and more people are going gray on purpose! They are paying money to get their hair colored gray. I thought I would never see the day. What do you all think of this trend? Do you like it or do you think it's a little bit crazy? More celebs and models are trying out this trend and it's starting to pop up everywhere! Maybe one day you'll walk down the beauty aisle of a store and see different shades of gray to choose from for hair coloring. It was never a color that was in high demand before.

Save Your Things With A Cinda B Hot Iron Cover

I am always on the go and traveling for my job.  I have definitely had things get ruined on the trip there, and I am finally starting to do something about it.  I am a last minuet person, so I am getting ready right up until I have to leave. Because of this I have burned clothes, melted things and made burn marks on things from my hot irons. I just got a new purse from the Cinda B line, and while I was looking through everything, I noticed that it offered hot iron covers that are heat resistant, so when I am in a hurry (like usual) I can just put it in the carrier and go, and I won't have to worry about anything getting ruined. I love that the pattern is so cute too!

A Homemade Face Mask for Dry Skin

The temperatures are dropping and the air is getting a lot drier. This happens every year and I can see and feel the changes in my skin. My face feels a lot drier and it started to get a couple of really dry patches. My daily moisturizer is no longer enough to keep my face hydrated. My lips are also started to get more chapped and I am constantly applying chapstick. When it gets like this, I know that it is time to do a face mask. I like the homemade ones because store face masks are a lot more expensive and there are many unnecessary and sometimes harmful ingredients in them!

Here is the recipe for a fantastic homemade face mask for dry skin.
You will need:

  • 1 tsp powdered milk
  • 1 tbsp runny honey
  • 1 tsp aloe vera gel
  • 2 drops essential oil
Mix ingredients well, apply to face, let sit for 15 minutes, wash off with warm water.

Let me know how it works. I personally love it!

Perfect Party Dresses for a Night Out

I'm always looking for fun, new things to add to my closet. I'm sure you all know this already, hence the blog. I love looking for the latest and greatest fashions and sharing them.

I came across a site with a fantastic selection of party dresses. I love that these dresses are so fashionable and fun, yet aren't super expensive. I love finding wearable fashion that is actually affordable! There is such a huge selection of dresses (among other clothes) on this site. For example, the dress pictured above comes in THIRTEEN different colors, wow! They truly understand that everybody has a different style and size and it's great that they accommodate to both. Available on the site are dresses in sizes XS to a 4X. No matter what body type you have, you can find the perfect dress that you will look and feel stunning in.

I have a wedding to go to next month and picked out this dress for it, what do you think!?

My Vote for Best Dressed at the CMA's

Did any of you watch the CMA's this past Thursday evening? It was on television, and I'm sure you all heard. When I went to check my facebook, the CMA's were all anybody could talk about! Twitter was blowing up with Tweets about the CMA's as well. It was great!

Everybody in the music world buzzes about the amazing vocals, new songs, and fabulous duets. Everybody in the fashion world talks about best dressed and worst dressed. Now I'm not going to get into the whole "worst dressed" thing, because personally, I think it's mean! I would rather focus on the good than hang onto the bad.

My vote for best dressed this year goes to Carrie Underwood, hands down. She looks absolutely stunning! I love the intricate detail of her dress. The colors look amazing with her skin tone and hair color, and her confidence just gives her that boost that puts a cherry on top of an amazing outfit.

Congrats to the winners of the CMA's! Have a great weekend everybody.

A Beautiful Titanium Ring

There are so many things I love about a titanium ring, or any titanium jewelry for that matter. Titanium has so many fantastic qualities! These rings are both durable and lightweight. Have you ever heard of such thing? It sounds impossible, but I promise I'm telling the truth. Titanium is more durable than steal at a fraction of the weight.

The durability is fantastic for the hardworking person who needs a piece of jewelry that stands up to their busy life. It's great wearing a ring and knowing that I am able to have no lifestyle restrictions while wearing it and knowing that I don't have to take my ring off and leave it somewhere when I have to do something like the dishes, or playing with the kids. I also love the lightweight feel to titanium because it's extremely comfortable to wear.

This ring is stylish and fun. I love the simplicity yet absolute beauty it has. It's easy to see why titanium jewelry is on top of the jewelry market right now--there are so many wonderful things to be said about titanium!

Fun Ways to Wear Your Scarf

Scarves are one of my favorite accessories. I love how they can change an outfit and add so much "pop" to an ordinary outfit. I love that I can load up on the inexpensive, plain, colored shirts and make the same shirt look completely different with a scarf.

Scarves are also easy to use for seasonal dressing. In the summer, I wear lightweight scarves that have colors that are bright and fun, such as green, yellow, pink, purple, etc. In the fall, I wear rust tone, deep reds, dark golden yellows, burnt orange, etc. In the winter, the scarves get a little bit heavier and I lean more towards creams, blacks, and deep grays. It's amazing on how diverse scarves can get!

I was looking around on Pinterest today and found this amazing picture that shows some of the many different ways to wear a scarf. Try some of these out next time you want to sport a scarf, or come up with some of your own and share them on here! I can't wait to see!

How to Save a Ton of Money by Making Your Own Body Wash

I love having body wash in the shower. I am not a huge fan of the bars of soap. I feel like they are messier and it seems a little gross to have everybody in the family sharing the same bar of soap! Body wash is, however, much more expensive than a bar of soap. I do most of my shopping at Target, and they carry 4 packs of Dove bar soap for just around $4 while a single container of body wash is about $5-6. It would save a lot of money to use the bars!

I found a way to make the bars of soap into body wash. All you need is the bars of soap, some water, a cheese grater, and an empty body wash bottle to fill. Grate the bars of soap with the cheese grater. When you are finished, put the grated soap into a sauce pan with a cup or two of water (depending on which consistency you prefer). Turn the stove on to low-medium and warm the mixture for about 5 minutes until it is combined and the soap is completely dissolved. Pour the soap into the bottle(s) and allow the mixture to sit overnight.

Try Out Ombre Nails

You've seen the ombre look everywhere I'm sure. I'm seeing it everywhere and I love it! "Ombre" is a fun trend that started in France and is making its way everywhere. I've been seeing so many people with ombre hair, either fading from dark to lighter, or light to darker. I've seen a variety of people rock some amazing colors--it's fun to really see how creative people can get with the color combinations. For more about ombre hair, see my previous post!
If you are wanting to try out the ombre look, but not ready to take the plunge by coloring your hair, try it out on your nails. It's super fun, and you can choose to go lighter to darker or darker to lighter. You can try this out with so many different color combinations. For Halloween, you could do an orange shade fading into black, or you could try a hot color this fall and use shades of purple and plum. Have fun with this and get creative! If you don't like it, you can always use a good nail polish remover to take it off and start fresh.

Ombre Hair is IN

I'm all about Fall fashion. It is my favorite time of the year and there is nothing about Fall that I don't like. There are so many great things about it that I really just can't get enough: the apple cider, football games, new fashion trends, Halloween, cool weather, and of course the copious amount of meals I make in the crock pot.

Anyway, I've been seeing this "ombre" look everywhere and I absolutely fell in love with it! This is a French trend (go figure, everything awesome starts there, they are the fashion capital of the world...) So many celebs are trying this out (think Khloe Kardashian). You can make this work whether you want to go bold or try something a little more nonchalant. Think of your job, too, before you go too bold! During the warmer months, go for lighter and brighter shades and in the colder months of winter, try out ash tones. Have fun with this and post some pics if you get this done--I'd love to see!

A Great Place to Get a Facial in Orange County

Good skincare is a great habit to get into. When you get into a habit of doing something, it no longer is really a conscious thought but something that becomes a second nature. Good skincare can be just like brushing your teeth, or walking your dog. After awhile, it becomes a habit and is something that is part of your everyday routine!

My go-to skin experts are at CloudMover Day Spa. It is a great place to get a facial in Orange County. They have extremely knowledgeable staff to take care of you and assist with your skincare. Their product line up is out of this world and they only use the best on your skin. I go get a facial every two weeks and choose a service from their facial line up.

I can choose between a custom facial, an HB facial, a pumpkin facial, or a microdermabrasian treatment. Each facial or treatment is unique and can be custom designed to fit your wants and needs. I look forward to my routine visits to CloudMover and enjoy them so much! I can't wait for my upcoming visit this week.

An Adorable Betsy Johnson Watch

Betsey Johnson has awesome accessories! I have a little bit of a collection going, but I can't help it. The designs are absolutely adorable and they are like no other. I love adding accessories to an outfit. It can completely change the entire outfit and spice it up so much. A cute black t-shirt and jeans can be spiced up and changed with a necklace, earrings and a bracelet or watch. It's easy to use accessories to add pops of color into outfits as well.

This Betsey Johnson watch just came out at Nordstrom. I saw it and instantly fell in love. What's not to love? First of all, this watch is PINK, my favorite color. The pink crystals and pink bow just add to its cuteness! It has a leather strap that buckles. The dial is mother of pearl, it's water resistant, and is stainless steel. I can't wait to get tis watch and add it to my collection!

Black and Brown

There are so many things that are hot in the fashion world that used to be considered taboo. One example is combining red and pink. You used to never see a combination of these two colors until color blocking became popular. Another example is wearing white after Labor Day. This was something else that you never saw but is now very common. White is one of the most popular colors for Fall and Winter this year! I love all the changes that are going on and am super excited to see what's to come.

It used to be so taboo to wear black with brown that it was ridiculous. It is a color combo that I love and I'm glad it's acceptable in the fashion world. The warm tones that the shades of brown have combine with the sharp intense black color and it creates a fantastic look. I've even combined the two colors in decorating my home. I love it!

Black is the New...Black

I know you have all heard phrases before that sound something like this.."Pink is the new black", "grey is the new black", or "green is the new black". It comes and goes every season with a different color being the "new black". It's phrased like this because black is a color that never goes out of style. It's been around for decades and will continue to be around for decades. This Fall, black is becoming even more trendy than it already is and is being seen more and more on both the streets and the runways.

Black was sometimes associated as a "gothic" color. It's sometimes associated as a depressing color--something this is worn to funerals. Well let me tell you! Black is HOT! It is a go-to color that always looks great. One of the things I love about black is that it is slimming. It hides some of my unwanted curves and lines. It is so sleek looking that it is my favorite color to wear! If you're not ready to go all-black like the above picture, add bits of pieces at a time. You'll look great and get a ton of compliments!

A Great Way To Keep Your Hair Hydrated and Healthy

Fall is in full swing and I can't help my notice that everything is becoming extremely dry. The bad part is that this isn't even the worse of it yet--it will get much worse in the middle of winter. I'm dreading it, but I love the change of season! I've noticed it so far in my hair, nails and skin. I went out yesterday and loaded up on some Fall and Winter hair and skin care products. I purchased a cuticle moisturizer to keep my nails looking soft as well as some thick, creamy hand lotion. I also apply a foot cream and night and put socks on my feet to help the foot cream better absorb into my skin. I purchased the ingredients for an amazing do it yourself hair treatment. I do this every year and it works great!

All you need is 2 egg yolks with two tablespoons of olive oil. Mix the two together and add a cup of water. Add the treatment to your hair and massage it into your scalp. Wait 15-20 minutes and rinse well. This will result in softer, shinier hair that will look great, feel great and be healthier!

Pretty Preppy Fall Outfit

I am LOVING the change of weather and seasons that is going on. Fall is my all-time favorite season of the year and there is NOTHING about Fall that I don't like! I love the change in clothing, activities, and colors. With Fall comes putting away flip flops and shorts and taking out leggings, boots, and sweaters. It's also time to bring out the crock pot and put away the grill in the garage until Spring.

I feel like Western boots are making a huge mark in the fashion happenings of Fall 2012. I have a couple of pairs of Western boots and I love them! I was thinking the other day...what if you aren't into that look? So many fashion websites and magazines are showing the Western look. What if that's not your style? I found this pretty preppy Fall look and thought I would share! Pair a blazer with a warm scarf. To keep your hair out of the way, a high bun is easy to do in your hair and looks very chic.

Natural Jewelry Cleaner

A woman loves jewelry more than almost anything else. For me, the more blingy it is, the better! I love dressing up a regular everyday outfit with fun and pretty accessories and jewelry. I have quite the collection going and I could never part with my jewelry and I love to keep it looking nice. I try to frequently clean my jewelry but the cleaner in the store is always so expensive!

All you need for ingredients is:
1 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 tablespoon dish detergent
1 cup of water

Heat the water in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes. Cut a piece of aluminum (enough to cover the bottom of the bowl). Pour the hot water in the bowl over the aluminum foil. Add remaining ingredients and place jewelry on top of foil. Allow jewelry time to sit for at least five to ten minutes. Rinse jewelry completely with cool water and dry with a soft cloth. Discard solution when finished--don't reuse! You will love the sparkle and shine that your jewelry will have!

A Great Fall Headband

Fall is in full swing! I love changing up my wardrobe to accommodate the changing season. It feels so festive and great to change out my closet with change of weather.

I found this super cute headband that is crocheted material. It's adorable! The warmer fabric will look great as an accessory. It can be matched to a scarf much like this woman did. She pulls this look off flawlessly and that's something I would definitely consider doing!

Some of the Fall accessories and clothing that I add to my wardrobe for the new season includes: scarfs, boots, leggings, sweaters, thicker and warmer headbands, leg warmers, long sleeve shirts, sweatshirts, and more.

Beautiful and Unique Engagement Rings

An engagement and wedding are such an important part of somebody's life. It really is a once in a lifetime opportunity so it's best to make it happen the right way! You should be absolutely knocked off of your feet when you are proposed to. There are many different ways to propose to somebody and I can say that when I was proposed to it was one of the best and most memorable days of my life.

With a proposal comes an engagement ring. This is a ring that is worn during the engagement and when the wedding comes around, it is joined with a wedding band to signify the marriage and commitment that is shared between two people who love each other and have promised to spend their lives in unity.

There are many engagement rings available on the jewelry market. Simone and Son has a fantastic selection of beautiful and unique engagement rings. They have such a great selection that the rings they carry can match any style or personal taste. With a wedding, make sure that you ENJOY it--every minute of it from the proposal to the wedding planning to the big day!

Beautiful 3-D Lip Effect

I found this fantastic lip effect that instantly draws eyes into your beautiful and full lips and makes them look plumper and fuller. This is an effect that SO many people try to achieve. It's easy to do and looks fantastic.

All you need is some highlighting powder (a light, slightly shimmery eye shadow works great). Whatever you use, make sure that it is lighter than the color of the lipstick! You will also need your favorite lip color. Apply the lip color all over to the lips (both top and bottom). For a little more precision you can use a lip pen, but a traditional lipstick works great too. Dip your finger into the highlighting powder and dab it directly in the center of each of your top and bottom lips. Remember, JUST in the middle, not all over! This literally makes the lips look like they are "popping". You will get that beautiful plump look that SO many women try to achieve.

How to Marble Nails

Giving nails the "marble effect" is a hot trend in the beauty world. I found a great post on Pinterest (where else?!) and had to share! I tried it out and loved it. I have tried it now with so many different colors that people are started to ask me to do theirs for them!

First paint your nail all over with a light, shimmery color. I use an off-white, cream-colored, or light pink shade and do a base coat before putting it on. Put a GOOD amount of lotion around the nail on the finger. This will help the nail polish to stay on the nail! Fill a bowl with water and have two bottles of nail polish open and ready. Add a drop of the first nail polish to the middle of the water in the bowl. Then add the second color immediately after. Keep repeating the process until you get a nice design going in the water bowl. Use a toothpick, needle, or pin and swirl the polish around until the design looks like you want it to look on your nail.

Soak a q tip in nail polish remover and rub the excess off of your hand. Let it dry and do the other nails after!

Fantastic Jewelry in Orange County

If you are like most women, you love jewelry. There is nothing better than getting the gift of jewelry for special occasions. The best jewelry I ever received was for my wedding. It's my favorite piece of jewelry and definitely the most special. I wear my wedding and engagement rings everyday.

Through all the mess and chaos of planning our wedding, my husband made the right decision and got my wedding jewelry in Orange County at Simone and Son. It's the most beautiful ring I've ever seen and I love it!

Simone and Son is a jewelry store that has been around since 1978. They are a family owned company and have what it takes to do well in the jewelry market. This is a family owned company with great values and fantastic product. Simone and Son has a team of jewelers that specialize in custom design and craft of any ring.

The Perfect Long Prom Dress

For prom this year I really wanted a long prom dress because I have had short ones in the past. With that, I had no idea what I wanted besides that, so I thought I would just start looking everywhere and be open to anything! It didn't take me long to find such a beautiful dress. I bought this dress in a beautiful dark tealish blue color. It fits absolutely perfect and the crystals on it are gorgeous and look so bright under the light. I cannot wait for the big day to look absolutely perfect. I hope everything goes as well as getting this dress does.

Wake Up to Gorgeous Hair!

Now that school is starting again, time becomes more of an issue when it comes to your beauty routine. Now that my college classes have started back up again, I've started showering at night before bed which allows me at least another half hour of beauty sleep at night--which is very important when you're attending classes all day and taking tests, doing papers, and reading copious amounts of material. When I first started doing this, I didn't know what my hair was going to look like when I got up since I go to bed when it's wet. I found some great tips to share if you wash your hair at night to make sure it's ready to be styled in the morning!
I found these tips from Oprah.com!

Wake Up to More Volume

1. Spritz all over with a volumizing spray.
2. Pull it all into a high pony at your crown and twist the tail-winding it onto itself to create a loose bun.
3. With a few long bobbies, pin the bun in place.
4. In the morning, let your hair down and finger comb (using a brush creates frizz).

Wake Up to Waves

1. Apply a light mousse from roots to ends.
2. From hairline to nape, divide your hair down the middle with a comb, separating it into two equal sections.
3. Braid each side from the middle down.
4. Secure the end of each braid with a metal-free elastic.
5. Pull out the elastics or pins in the morning and unwind your hair. For a beachy effect, mist a salt spray all over your hair and scrunch with your hands.

Wake Up to Less Frizz

1. Apply a light leave-in conditioner and use a wide-tooth comb to distribute it to your ends.
2. Part your hair down the middle. Divide each side into three smaller sections.
3. Starting at the bottom of one of the smaller sections, create a pin curl by wrapping the ends up and over two fingers as you would a foam roller and continue winding up toward your roots. (This prevents curls from tangling or catching on your pillow at night.)
4. Slip your fingers out and secure the pin curl to your scalp using a clip. Then repeat steps three and four on the other five sections.
5. Remove the clips in the a.m. and lightly spritz your hair with water to soften curls and eliminate static.
