Hot Trends This Prom Season

Prom is just around the corner. With the new fashions of the season, I'm here to share some of the hottest trends that you'll be seeing for Prom 2013. Check out these fashionable hair, make up, and dress trends. What will you be rocking this year?

1. Lace. It's a vintage inspiration and it's hot right now. You can stray away from the traditional ivory or white lace and get unique with a ton of different color options.

2. A messy up do. This year, it'll be less about a prim and styled up do and more about a natural, "thrown-together" look. 

3. Asymmetrical neckline. This changing things up and is just unique enough to turn heads. I love pairing bright lipstick with a white dress. It really makes the lips pop! 

4. Winged eyeliner. This is a bold look that creates a shape showing off full lashes and big bright eyes.

5. Red lips. If you don't have red lipstick, get it now! This trend is HOT and won't be going anywhere for quite a while. 

6. Ombre. You've seen it building as a trend in hair coloring, and it can be done with natural-looking colors or fun, bright colors. Now it's spreading to formal wear and I love it!

Top Fall Fashion Trends of 2012

I'm sure you've already been noticing new fashion trends popping up in stores and online. It's no secret in the fashion world that when the seasons change, the trends do too!

I'm taking today to share with my readers some of the fall fashion trends of 2012. You can take these great ideas from the runways right to your closet!

First off, an elegant look is now super trendy. This would include velvet materials, black and gold colors, ornate details, embellishments, etc. It's a very luxe and grandeur look. I love it!

PINK! Pink is the new, well, pink. Shades of pink will be popping up in stores everywhere from light tones to dark, deep shades...you can't go wrong with pink this season!

White is right. Maybe the biggest color trend of fall will be no color at all! Any shade from eggshell to a bright white can be used for this hot trend. Add a little bit of silver if you're hesitant to go all white!

A Cute Fall Look

Fall is just around the corner! I was shopping at Target yesterday and saw the school supplies out already. Summer has been going by so fast, I can't believe it. I don't know if I'm ready to say goodbye to all of the fantastic summer fashion trends of 2012.

Here are some great fall trends to look forward to this year:

-red! Crimson red is the new black and I couldn't be more excited

-black and neutrals

I love this outfit! I wanted to show you all this great fall trend outfit. It's all black with neutral accessories to break up the black a bit. You are going to be seeing a lot of this in the fall season and it's such a great look.

These Are Great Party Dresses For Summer!

If your summer is looking anything like mine, it's BUSY! That is fun though, right? I love going from one event to another and using these amazing events as an excuse to really fill up my closet with party dresses.

This particular dress is one of my recent favorites. I can't wait to order it! It is the perfect dress for a formal outdoor wedding I am attending next month. The silver sparkle detail on the front brings focus and adds some simple bling to the dress. This will go perfectly with my silver heels and some cute, silver rhinestone earrings.

Retro One Piece Swimsuits Are Really Making a Splash

I am very sorry for the very corny title. I had to though--once I thought it in my head, I wanted to share. How can you not appreciate that beautiful and witty play on words!?

Anyway, I've been seeing more and more retro style one-piece swimsuits. They are popping up everywhere on beaches and at pools.I've noticed that this trend goes along with the very popular and upcoming Rockabilly style (see my past post about Rockabilly style if you don't know what I am talking about). You can trend this swimsuit out even more with a floral headband and some bright colored lipstick. 

I'll admit after seeing The Notebook, I wanted a swimsuit just like Rachel McAdams had. Heck, I wanted Ryan Gosling just like Rachel McAdams (Allie) had. It was a perfect example of a classic 50's swimsuit that was modest yet adorable. I can't wait to put my usual string bikini far, far in the back of my drawer and try out a retro swimsuit! 

Rockabilly Hair Accessory

Rockabilly fashion is IN. It is trending so fast right now! If you don't know anything about Rockabilly, it is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music that dates back to the 1950's. Rockabilly is a combination of the words "rock and roll" and "hillbilly". Get it? It's kind of clever! With the Rockabilly style of music, of course it came with a trend in clothing and hairstyles.

A Rockabilly style in fashion includes big bows (such as this one, pictured above) on top of the head, pencil skirts, opened toed heels, polka dots, poofed bangs, flowers in the hair, loose wavy hair, plenty of make up, and of course tattoos. It's a very unique style that seems to be a mix of punk, 50's style, indie, and retro. It's a very fun and up-and-coming style that you will be seeing a lot of in the fashion world!

Colorblock Dress

Color blocking is still in. This is a trend that's been around for a few seasons now. It is still around because it is so trendy looking! If you're not aware of what color blocking is, it involves "blocks" of color comprising an outfit. You can do it with any colors you choose, and they aren't always colors that you think go together. I did a color blocking outfit the other day with red shoes, a pink blazer, a green purse, black leggings, and a blue top under my pink blazer. It was crazy but fun!

I found this perfect dress for summer that goes with the trend of color blocking. It is a Clearwater Colorblock Dress and is on sale. The top is made of chiffon and the accordion style pleated skirt is in grey. As you can see, the grey and blue are separated by a fun, lime green sash. It's 33 inches in length if you're wanting to know how long it is.

This dress would the perfect thing to wear to a summer wedding. It's fun and bright and very trendy. This would go perfectly with some turquoise or lime green shoes if you're looking for a fun, bright look or grey pumps if you are looking to tone things down a little bit.
